How To Remove Freezer Drawer In Whirlpool Refrigerator At Home
Do you have a whirlpool refrigerator and you are getting frustrated because your freezer is not working properly? If so, you are not alone. Many people are facing this problem these days and there are certain reasons for that. The main reason is that they don't know how to remove the freezer drawer in whirlpool refrigerator. This is a common problem and it can be easily fixed by following a few simple steps.
If you own a whirlpool refrigerator and you are having problems with your freezer, then I suggest you to visit your nearest service center and ask them to remove the freezer drawer for you. But if you decide to do it yourself, then follow the simple instructions given below:
1: Unplug the power supply from the back of the refrigerator. You should do this because it will protect you against an electric shock. Now take a metal object like a screwdriver and pry up the two metal prongs on the bottom of the drawer. Pry them up carefully until you feel some resistance. Once you feel some resistance then pry up the drawer slightly and check whether the prongs are coming out or not. If yes, then keep going till you feel some more resistance. Now pry it up completely and see whether the metal strip holding the drawer in place is coming out or not. If yes, then remove it carefully and put it aside.
2: Now unplug the two white wires connected to the black plastic box located at the bottom of the refrigerator. Now remove the two screws located at the back of the freezer compartment. Once you remove those two screws, you will see a plastic plate attached to the back of the compartment with two metal strips. Remove the metal strips and remove the plastic plate. Now you will see a black metal panel located under the refrigerator. Pry up that panel slightly and locate the three connectors. Remove them and take off the plastic cap located at the end of each wire. Remove the wires and put them aside. Now locate the two metal screws located at the bottom of the freezer drawer. Take them out and remove the metal strip which holds the drawer in place. Now gently pull out the drawer and check whether the freezer is empty or not. If yes, then remove the metal strip located at the front of the drawer and put it aside.
3: Take a container and put some water in it. Now put the container into the freezer compartment and close the door. You should do this because the coldness of the water will quickly freeze any ice cubes formed in the freezer. After 5 minutes check the water in the container. If it is frozen, then remove the container from the refrigerator and take it to a sunny window. Let the water thaw completely. After that, pour the water from the container into another container. Add some more water to the first container and mix well. Now put the mixture back into the container and put it back into the freezer. Try to freeze the mixture again after about 30 minutes. This time check the water in the container after 10 minutes. If it is still frozen, then do the same thing as before. But if the water is not frozen yet then add more water to the mixture and freeze it again. Keep doing this till you get a nice, smooth mixture.
Conclusion
In case you are wondering why I have given such detailed instructions for removing the freezer drawer in whirlpool refrigerator, it is simple. The main reason is that sometimes people try to fix things on their own without knowing what they are doing and it makes the situation worse. So, by following these instructions, you will be able to easily remove the freezer drawer in whirlpool refrigerator.
